Life is a journey of negotiated curves, rolling plains, deep troughs and raging waters. After the storm lies the peace and tranquility which sustains us till the next cycle of growth. It is the evolution of times and learning which occurs so naturally that it goes unnoticed at times.
Education, likewise, is a journey with pit stops and undefined destinations. The world of “instant noodles” has re-defined knowledge because you can learn at the push of a button. So where will all these lead us to at the end of the day? More time and freedom or slavery to technology? With more video conferencing and mobile gadgets, we have less time for more quality communication.
So… let’s spend this semester reflecting on learning “with technology”, “through technology” or “of technology”. To which shall we educators hold true? I believe the journey is worth the taking……
